Stock market update: Sugar stocks down as market falls

NEW DELHI: Sugar stocks were trading lower on Friday at 10:19AM

Rajshree Sugars & Chemicals(up 1.55%), EID Parry(up 1.05%), Dharani Sugars & Chemicals(up 0.59%), AVADHSUGAR(up 0.44%) and Bannari Amman Sugars(up 0.37%) were among the top gainers.

Balrampur Chini Mills(down 3.02%), BAJAJHIND(down 2.96%), Ugar Sugar Works(down 2.63%), Vishwaraj Sugar Industries(down 2.49%), KCP Sugar & Industries(down 2.12%), Shree Renuka Sugars(down 2.09%), Dwarikesh Sugar Industries(down 1.80%), K.M.Sugar Mills(down 1.63%), Rana Sugars(down 1.62%) and Dhampur Sugar Mills(down 1.57%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 68.75 points down at 18702.5, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was down 141.94 points at 63096.95 at around 10:19AM.

Bharti Airtel(up 1.45%), NTPC(up 1.36%), IndusInd Bank(up 0.8%), Asian Paints(up 0.7%), HDFC Bank(up 0.69%), Dr Reddys Laboratories(up 0.67%), HDFC(up 0.63%), Bajaj Auto(up 0.5%) and Nestle India(up 0.08%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Adani Enterprises(down 5.54%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone(down 3.57%), Bharat Petroleum Corporation(down 2.28%), Hindalco Industries(down 2.05%), Tech Mahindra(down 1.82%), HDFC LIFE INSURANCE(down 1.68%), Tata Motors(down 1.48%), Power Grid Corporation of India(down 1.44%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries(down 1.23%) and Tata Steel(down 1.13%) were trading in the red.
