Cincinnati weather: Rain and severe weather possible this weekend

A severe weather threat may develop in the Ohio Valley Region this weekend.

According to a hazardous weather outlook from the National Weather Service in Wilmington, a few severe storms may occur late Sunday afternoon into Sunday night. Damaging wind and large hail are the primary severe weather threat. An isolated tornado is also possible.

Hazardous weather is expected Saturday through Thursday for East Central Indiana, Southeast Indiana, Northeast Kentucky, Northern Kentucky, Central Ohio, South Central Ohio, Southwest Ohio and West Central Ohio.

Expect moderate temperatures with warm and humid conditions this weekend before somewhat cooler conditions return Monday.

Friday: Showers, with thunderstorms also possible after 3 p.m. High near 78.

Friday night: A chance of showers and thunderstorms before 9 p.m., then a slight chance of showers between 9 p.m. and 11 p.m. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 63.

Saturday: A slight chance of showers, then a chance of showers and thunderstorms after 1 p.m. Partly sunny, with a high near 87. 

Saturday night:  A chance of showers, mainly before 7 p.m. Partly cloudy, with a low around 66. 

Sunday: A chance of showers and thunderstorms between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m., then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm after 3 p.m. Partly sunny, with a high near 87.

Sunday night: Showers and thunderstorms likely before midnight, then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm between midnight and 3 a.m., then a chance of showers and thunderstorms after 3 a.m. Partly cloudy, with a low around 66.

Monday: A chance of showers and thunderstorms before 9 a.m., then a chance of showers between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m., then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm after 3 p.m. Mostly sunny, with a high near 80. 

Tuesday: A chance of showers. Partly sunny, with a high near 77.

Wednesday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 82.

Thursday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 83.
