Stock market update: FMCG stocks down as market falls

NEW DELHI: FMCG stocks were trading lower on Friday at 09:59AM

Euro India Fresh Foods(up 3.10%), Parag Milk(up 0.27%), Hatsun Agro Product Ltd(up 0.22%), Heritage Foods(up 0.05%) and Gillette India(up 0.01%) were among the top gainers.

Future Consumer(down 5.56%), Varun Beverages(down 3.77%), Nakoda Group(down 3.07%), Patanjali Foods(down 2.02%), Dangee Dums(down 1.86%), Emami(down 1.75%), Jyothy Labs(down 1.62%), ADF Foods(down 1.46%), Adani Wilmar(down 1.18%) and Dabur India(down 1.02%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 71.55 points down at 18699.7, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was down 173.46 points at 63065.43 at around 09:59AM.

Bharti Airtel(up 1.41%), NTPC(up 1.3%), Asian Paints(up 0.92%), JSW Steel(up 0.54%), IndusInd Bank(up 0.52%), HDFC Bank(up 0.43%), Dr Reddys Laboratories(up 0.4%), HDFC(up 0.3%), Bajaj Auto(up 0.27%) and Nestle India(up 0.05%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Adani Enterprises(down 4.99%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone(down 2.81%), Bharat Petroleum Corporation(down 2.29%), Hindalco Industries(down 1.56%), Tech Mahindra(down 1.38%), Power Grid Corporation of India(down 1.16%), HDFC LIFE INSURANCE(down 1.15%), Titan Company Ltd(down 1.13%), Tata Motors(down 1.05%) and State Bank of India(down 1.04%) were trading in the red.
