Micro-finance co owner held for ‘raping’ employee

Varanasi: The owner of a micro-finance company was arrested by Aurai police in Bhadohi district on Thursday for allegedly raping his personal secretary.
SP Bhadohi Anil Kumar said one Prabhat Tiwari of Nevadhia village under Aurai police station has been arrested on charges of rape and criminal intimidation. Further investigation in the case is underway, he added.
Regarding the incident, Bhadohi police said on June 12, a woman lodged a complaint with Aurai police against Tiwari. Initially, Aurai cops lodged an FIR under Sections 354 (assault with intent to outrage modesty of woman) and 354a (sexual harassment) of IPC.
Under the SP’s strict directive, Aurai cops swung into action and began investigation. With progress in investigation, police added section of rape and criminal intimidation. Fearing his arrest, Tiwari absconded. However, the teams engaged to arrest Tiwari succeeded in nabbing him near Aurai bus stand on Thursday morning. tnn
