Telangana CM inaugurates one of India’s largest pvt rail coach factories
The factory has come up at an investment of ₹805 crore with 558 direct and 500 indirect jobs already created and another 1,000 more people to be employed in the near future.
HYDERABAD: One of India’s largest private rail coach and bogie factories, set up by Hyderabad’s Medha Servo Drives in joint venture with Swiss railway rolling stock manufacturer Stadler Rail, was flagged off by Telangana chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao at Kondakal of Rangareddy district on Thursday.
The factory has come up at an investment of `805 crore with 558 direct and 500 indirect jobs already created and another 1,000 more people to be employed in the near future. To be spread over 100 acres, the facility will manufacture rolling stock for railways such as coaches, bogies, locomotives, wagons, train sets, metro trains as well as monorail. In phase-1, the unit has come up over 25 acres with a 33,000 sq ft built up area.

The joint venture will be using the factory not just as a primary manufacturing site to cater to the tenders it bags from the Indian market but also for exports across the Asia Pacific region.
