NEW DELHI: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) will walk out of Friday's opposition meeting in Patna if the Congress fails to promise its support against the Centre's ordinance concerning the control of administrative services in Delhi, party sources said.
The meeting, convened by Bihar chief minister and Janata Dal (United) chief
Nitish Kumar, aims to devise a collective strategy to challenge the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the upcoming 2024 Lok Sabha elections. AAP national convenor and Delhi CM
Arvind Kejriwal is also expected to attend the meeting.
"The AAP will stage a walkout from the meeting unless the Congress guarantees its support regarding the ordinance," said a party source.
Arvind Kejriwal had expressed optimism on Tuesday, hoping that the Congress would clarify its stance on the Centre's ordinance regarding the control of administrative services in the national capital during the gathering of non-BJP parties in Patna.
