The 160cc sporty commuter segment is quite crowded, and if you are a Bajaj Pulsar fanboy, you are even more spoilt for choices as Bajaj offers the Pulsar NS160 and the Pulsar N160. So, are you also confused as to which Pulsar 160 should you buy? Well, we answer that question in this review.

In this review, we compare both the Pulsar 160s on various parameters like engine performance, tractability, handling, and ride quality. We also compare them based on their fit and finish levels, overall quality, and features and equipment. Finally, we also compare the exhaust notes of both bikes and just for the kicks, we also perform a drag race.

Bajaj Pulsar N160 Right Front Three Quarter

Although both motorcycles fall in the same 160cc segment, they feature completely different powertrains. The Pulsar NS160 gets a 160.3cc, oil-cooled, four-valve motor that makes 17.03bhp at 9,000rpm and 14.6Nm at 7,250rpm. On the other hand, the Pulsar N160 is powered by a 164.82cc, oil-cooled, two-valve engine that makes 15.68bhp at 8,750rpm and 14.65Nm at 6,750rpm. Both motorcycles feature a five-speed gearbox.

Both motorcycles are almost evenly matched when it comes to features and pricing. While the Pulsar N160 scores brownie points over the NS160 with features like LED projector lighting and a USB charging port, the Pulsar NS160 fights back by offering USD front forks. As for the pricing, the N160 starts at Rs. 1.23 lakh (ex-showroom), while the NS160 costs Rs. 1.25 lakh (ex-showroom).
