New Blues manager Mauricio Pochettino will have to hit the ground running once the summer window officially opens after inheriting a mess at Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea finished a pitiful 12th in the Premier League - their lowest since the 1993/94 season - following a series of errors on and off the pitch.
Pochettino will be keen to bring his own players in to put his stamp on an already oversized squad but equally that may mean several high-profile stars could be on their way out.

Cristiano Ronaldo – a player Mount idolised as an academy player – was the last player to wear seven and vacated it when he left the club last season.
Mount currently wears the No.19 shirt at Chelsea, which is worn by defender Raphael Varane at United, though he actually likes the no.10 shirt.
Explaining his shirt number in 2021, he said: “It was my first number at Vitesse [on loan between 2017-2018]. I chose it because my birthday is on the tenth and I couldn’t wear number ten.
“One plus nine is ten!
“That was the only one I could get, and I was nineteen [years old] when I was there.

The Nigerian is one of many top strikers Chelsea are looking at in this transfer window, but given the Blues have financial problems and must sell to buy, it seems unlikely they will be splashing out £150m on Osimhen.
The forward is one of Europe’s best forwards and would undoubtedly have an impact at Stamford Bridge, but the finances appear unrealistic.

The Roma manager faced widespread criticism after he directed abuse at English referee Anthony Taylor.
UEFA also announced West Ham fans would be banned for their next away game in European competition, with a further match suspended for two years.
That related to Hammers fans throwing missiles onto the pitch during their Europa Conference League final tie against Fiorentina in Prague earlier this month.

Sky Sports pundit and Manchester United icon Gary Neville has asked the Premier League to block Saudi Arabia from buying any more Premier League players after a raft of deals were agreed.
Chelsea have been one of PIF’s major targets during an intense recruitment drive that has seen them acquire Karim Benzema and N’Golo Kante, among others.
The Blues are set to make money from three deals, with Kalidou Kouilbaly, Edouard Mendy and Hakim Ziyech all on the verge of permanent moves to the Middle East, but Neville wants it to stop until they have been vetted.
Speaking to the BBC, he said: “The Premier League should put an instant embargo on transfers to Saudi Arabia to ensure the integrity of the game isn’t being damaged.
“Checks should be made on the appropriateness of the transactions.
“If it comes through that process, obviously transfers could open up again. But I do believe, at this moment in time, transfers should be halted until you look into the ownership structure at Chelsea and whether there are beneficial transfer dealings that are improper.”
Thomas Tuchel is eyeing a reunion with Chelsea captain Cesar Azpilicueta.
Tuchel’s Bayern Munich are looking to make a surprise move for Azpilicueta as their approach for Man City’s Kyle Walker seems to have fizzled out.
The Chelsea skipper won the Champions League under the German manager and played a huge part for the Blues during his time at Stamford Bridge.

“I’ve managed to do that and I’m so grateful for my coaches, my team-mates and the Chelsea supporters for helping me achieve this.
“The last few years at this club have been great for me and, I hope, for the Chelsea fans too.
“Ever since I joined, that need to win has been there. It’s the Chelsea spirit and you feel it straightaway. The players feel and all the coaches we’ve had, they’ve all shared a burning desire to win titles and trophies.
“I’ve always wanted to be at the top and being at Chelsea, they helped me achieve my dream. Here I’ve celebrated great victories, great trophies and I’ve been able to grow as a footballer.
“I’m just grateful for my journey. I think of all the people I’ve met on the way, people who shared the same dream as me to make it as a professional footballer, to make it to the top.
“Not everyone can fulfil their dreams. I’m fortunate. I’m succeeded and I made the decision to always remember how far I’ve come and to enjoy the ride.”

The Blues have been heavily linked with Celta Vigo and Spain youngster Veiga while Liverpool, Arsenal and Manchester City are also rumoured to be interested.
However, it’s Liverpool who may now have the advantage in the race after their iconic manager Rafa Benitez became the new Celta Vigo boss.
Benitez also managed Chelsea but did not experience the same success that he did at Anfield and his relationship with the Reds could help in negotiations.
Mateo Kovacic is set to complete his £30million move to Manchester City, talkSPORT understands.
A fee has now been agreed between the two clubs and Kovacic will be heading to play under Pep Guardiola next season.
The midfielder has already agreed personal terms and the deal is now believed to be complete.
