Chennai rain likely to continue for a few more hours

The central parts of Chennai received 30-35mm rain on Thursday afternoon. Rain lasted close to an hour. The city is likely to get heavy rain in the coming hours, according to the India Meteorological Department. The IMD forecast says that there will be moderate thunderstorms with lightning till 7pm. "There is likely to be thunderstorms in isolated places in Chennai, Chengalpet, Kancheepuram, Tiruvallur and a few other neighbouring districts. There could be waterlogging and slippery roads," said a warning.
