Ramgarh: The
Punjab Regimental Centre (PRC) here organized a yoga camp to mark International Yoga Day on Wednesday. It was attended by commandant of the centre Brigadier Sanjày Chandra Kandpal, Army officials, junior commissioned officers (JCO) and their family members. Special emphasis was laid on the need to include yoga in day to day life.
A total of 457 defence personnel and their family members participated in camp conducted by yoga instructors.
On the occasion, all were informed about the benefits of yoga which not only increase strength, stamina and flexibility but also give strength to control self breath and energy. Yoga has great importance for Army as it helps remove toxins from body and negative thoughts from mind, PRC said.
The day was also celebrated in Patratu Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Limited, a joint venture of state owned National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) in Patratu of Ramgarh district which was attended by PVUNL chief executive officer (CEO), Ravindra Kumar, officials, staff and local villagers.
Kumar said, “It's a group of physical, mental and spiritual disciplines that have been adopted as a lifestyle. The International Day of Yoga 2023 theme ‘Vasudeva Kutumbakam’ effectively encapsulates our collective aspiration for One Earth, One Family, One Future.”
