Euro U21 Championship 2023: Full schedule, fixtures, teams and UK kick-off times as England’s star-studded Young Lions aim to end long wait for title

The European U21 Championship is underway as Europe’s best youngsters compete against each other for the title.

Georgia and Romania are co-hosting the competition, which will kick off a summer full of exciting international football.

England are one of the favourites to become European champions for the first time since 1984 and it’s no surprise considering the faces in the Young Lions squad. 

Arsenal’s Emile Smith Rowe, Liverpool’s Curtis Jones and Harvey Elliott, Chelsea's Noni Madueke and Aston Villa's Jacob Ramsey are just some of the stars set to be at the tournament. 

However, Germany are the team to beat as they begin the Euros as reigning champions following their triumph against Portugal in 2021. 

Euro U21 Championship 2023: When and where is it? 

The UEFA European U21 Championship will begin on Wednesday, June 21 before the final on Saturday, July 8. 

The tournament will be co-hosted by Georgia and Romania. 

Games will take place in Cluj-Napoca and Bucharest in Romania and in Batumi, Kutaisi and Tbilisi in Georgia. 

Euro U21 Championship 2023: Venues 

All matches at the European U21 Championship will be staged at eight stadiums in total.

They are split equally with four in Romania and four in Georgia.

Euro U21 Championship 2023: England fixtures 

England will begin their tournament on Thursday, June 22. 

They will face Czechia in their opening group game at 5pm UK time before taking on Israel on Saturday, June 25 at the same time. 

Finally, a tough challenge against reigning champions Germany wraps up the Young Lions’ group stage on Wednesday, June 28. 

All three group games will be live on talkSPORT 2.
