Gurgaon: A man was arrested on Monday for allegedly posing as a candidate at the Border Security Force (BSF) physical examination in Bhondsi.
According to police, the accused, Sanjeet, is a resident of Gurha Sirsaganj village in UP.
He had earlier appeared on behalf of another person too, said police. “During the biometric test, it was found that his thumb impression already existed in the database, but in another name — Ram Bresh. Therefore, it is likely a case of impersonation,” Chandan Kumar Singh, a BSF officicer, told police.
An FIR has been registered under IPC sections 419 (cheating by personation), 420 (cheating) and 120B (criminal conspiracy) at Bhondsi police station.
“We have arrested the accused and launched an investigation to check if he is involved in other such frauds. Prima facie, it appears that Sanjeet is giving examinations using different names,” an investigation officer said.
