The city police conducted searches at three shops in the Camp area on Tuesday and booked the shopowners for allegedly selling e-cigarettes containing tobacco.
Acting on a tip-off, a team of the social security cell of the crime branch conducted searches at the shops on M G Road in the Pune Camp on Tuesday. During the searches, police recovered e-cigarettes of different companies containing tobacco worth Rs 2.32 lakh from three shops.
A case was registered against the shopowners as per sections of the Cigarettes and Other Tobacco Products (Prohibition of Advertisement and Regulation of Trade and Commerce, Production, Supply and Distribution) Act, 2003 and the Prohibition of Electronic Cigarettes Act, 2019.
