Stock market update: FMCG stocks up as market rises

NEW DELHI: FMCG stocks were trading higher on Wednesday at 10:09AM

JHS Svendgaard Laboratories(up 3.45%), Colgate Palmolive(India)(up 1.99%), Dangee Dums(up 1.89%), Mrs Bectors Food Specialities(up 1.74%), Emami(up 1.68%), Jyothy Labs(up 1.09%), Dodla Dairy(up 1.03%), Hindustan Unilever(up 0.93%), Parag Milk(up 0.83%) and Patanjali Foods(up 0.81%) were among the top gainers.

Prataap Snacks(down 1.19%), Heritage Foods(down 0.63%), Tasty Bite Eatables(down 0.43%), Gillette India(down 0.27%), Godrej Consumer Products(down 0.15%), Bajaj Consumer(down 0.13%), Euro India Fresh Foods(down 0.13%) and Umang Dairies(down 0.08%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 48.55 points up at 18865.25, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was up 220.33 points at 63548.03 at around 10:09AM.

HDFC LIFE INSURANCE(up 2.03%), Power Grid Corporation of India(up 1.77%), Larsen & Toubro(up 1.05%), HDFC Bank(up 0.96%), Hindustan Unilever(up 0.93%), Wipro(up 0.85%), HDFC(up 0.84%), Tech Mahindra(up 0.78%), SBI Life(up 0.71%) and TATA CONSUMER PRODUCTS(up 0.69%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, JSW Steel(down 1.86%), Hindalco Industries(down 1.12%), Divis Laboratories(down 1.04%), Apollo Hospitals Enterprises(down 0.95%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries(down 0.6%), Cipla(down 0.56%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone(down 0.51%), Tata Steel(down 0.48%), Bajaj Finance(down 0.48%) and Asian Paints(down 0.37%) were trading in the red.
