Dhampur Sugar Mills(down 1.02%), Dwarikesh Sugar Industries(down 0.92%), BAJAJHIND(down 0.91%), Sakthi Sugars(down 0.77%), Bannari Amman Sugars(down 0.66%), Rana Sugars(down 0.61%), K.M.Sugar Mills(down 0.56%), DCM Shriram Industries(down 0.39%), Rajshree Sugars & Chemicals(down 0.38%) and Simbhaoli Sugars(down 0.38%) were among the top losers of the day.
The NSE Nifty50 index ended 40.15 points up at 18856.85, while the 30-share BSE Sensex closed up 195.45 points at 63523.15.
Power Grid Corporation of India(up 3.8%), Oil & Natural Gas Corporation(up 1.88%), HDFC Bank(up 1.75%), HDFC(up 1.63%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone(up 1.58%), Tech Mahindra(up 1.13%), Bharti Airtel(up 0.94%), Tata Consultancy(up 0.94%), Hero MotoCorp(up 0.82%) and Wipro(up 0.78%) stood among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.
On the other hand, Hindalco Industries(down 1.87%), JSW Steel(down 1.86%), Divis Laboratories(down 1.59%), Mahindra & Mahindra(down 1.59%), ITC(down 1.28%), IndusInd Bank(down 0.91%), Axis Bank(down 0.91%), Apollo Hospitals Enterprises(down 0.84%), Bajaj Finance(down 0.59%) and Maruti Suzuki(down 0.54%) closed in the red.
