    The NSE Nifty index closed 40.15 points up at 18856.85

    Nifty moved in a tight range of 82 points, and ended slightly below the psychologically crucial level of 15,700.
    NEW DELHI: HDFC Bank(Rs. 352.45 crore), Aptus Value Housing(Rs. 287.47 crore), HDFC(Rs. 274.32 crore), Piramal Ent.(Rs. 144.63 crore), Patanjali Foods(Rs. 91.03 crore), Shriram Finance(Rs. 80.49 crore), Zee Ent.(Rs. 72.31 crore), HAL(Rs. 51.92 crore), Infosys(Rs. 51.14 crore) and Mazagon Dock Ship(Rs. 50.47 crore) were among the most traded securities on the National Stock Exchange in Wednesday's session.

    The NSE Nifty index ended the session 40.15 points up at 18856.85, while BSE Sensex rose 195.45 points to 63523.15.

    In the Nifty index, Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd.(up 3.80 per cent), Oil And Natural Gas Corporation Ltd.(up 1.88 per cent), HDFC Bank Ltd.(up 1.75 per cent), Housing Development Finance Corporation Ltd.(up 1.63 per cent) and Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone Ltd.(up 1.58 per cent) stood among the top gainers.

    On the other hand, Hindalco Industries Ltd.(down 1.87 per cent), JSW Steel Ltd.(down 1.86 per cent), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd.(down 1.59 per cent), Divi's Laboratories Ltd.(down 1.59 per cent) and ITC Ltd.(down 1.28 per cent) were among the top losers of the day.
