As Himachal Pradesh quickly becomes a pilgrimage destination, attracting thousands of devotees to its shakti peethas, the state government has launched a project to e-connect the state’s main temples. This change is intended to make it easier for devotees who are unable to visit in person.

In sum, e-connectivity would bring temples closer to their devotees while simultaneously increasing religious tourism.

According to news sources, the government has recently launched a pilot programme to simplify online bookings for havan, bhandara, and jagran rituals in these temples and shakti peethas, beginning with the iconic Mata Chintpurni temple in Una district.

According to reports, software development for this purpose has already started, and after the pilot project is completed, the e-connectivity service will be expanded to other significant temples around the state.

Recognising the great potential for adventure, medical, and religious tourism, the state administration has implemented novel methods to meet pilgrims’ requirements and encourage tourism.

According to state government authorities, pilgrims will be able to interact with temple priests, make online payments, and schedule ritual times using this digital portal. The programme would also present believers with opportune times to do specific pujas, enhancing their spiritual experience.

Recognising the importance of infrastructure in boosting the pilgrim experience, they noted that the government is also focused on the construction of significant temples, such as the Baba Balak Nath temple in Hamirpur district, which is also known as Diyotsiddha. This temple, built in a natural cave atop a hill in Chakmoh hamlet, is extremely important.
