House help accuses IPS officer of misbehaviour, retracts statement
Prayagraj: A house help - a police follower - who accused SP Kaushambi Brijesh Kumar Srivastava of misbehaving with her on Monday, retracted her statement 24 hours later. On Tuesday she told reporters that she levelled fake charges against the SP with an intention to defame him and settle an old score after she was sacked from follower’s job.
The complainant changed her statement hours after ADG Prayagraj zone Bhanu Bhaskar constituted a three-member committee led by IG Prayagraj range to probe the charges and submit report within four days.
The team led by IG (Prayagraj range) Chandra Prakash and SP (Chitrakoot) Vrinda Shukla and CDO (Pratapgarh) Isha Priya on Tuesday reached Kaushambi to record the statements of both the parties. The woman told media persons that she was working at the residence of the SP for the past couple of weeks.
“One day, family members of SP had scolded a male follower for not doing his job sincerely. Next day, when some crockery got damaged by me, the SP’s wife removed me from the house as well as follower’s job. Since that day, I was hatching plan to seek revenge. I did it intentionally,” she said. “Now, I want to tender my apology for levelling fake charges against the SP and I will be giving my statement to probe team,” she said adding that “No one has pursued me to level allegations or withdraw it.”tnn
