Good morning, readers. I'm Jolene Almendarez, and I have been writing a lot about a new law in Kentucky that eliminates medical gender-affirming care for minors.

You probably remember it as Senate Bill 150, which drew hundreds of protesters to the state capital a few months ago.

Students from across Kentucky arrived early to protest the anti-trans bill SB 150, the bill that would ban gender-affirming care for trans youth. Both the Senate and House later voted to override Beshear's veto. March 29, 2023

The medical part of the law is slated to go into effect on June 29. But, the ACLU of Kentucky and other organizations are suing state officials and trying to get an injunction to delay the implementation of the law.

Enquirer commenters had a lot to say about the story, and it's clear there's a lot of confusion about the issue. So, we took your comments – word for word – and checked with experts and scientists to find the best possible information to address your concerns.

We hope even the most informed people will learn something new fromtoday's article. (You can find that here.)
