44 crack JEE (A) from Gaya Patwa Toli area

GAYA: Maintaining its record of success in the prestigious Joint Entrance Examination (JEE), as many as 44 students of Patwa Toli in Manpur of this district, have cracked the JEE Advance this year. The list of successful students include as many as six girls. Last year, 38 students had got success in the examination.
Once known as 'Manchester of Bihar' for producing quality cotton fabric, the boys of Patwa Toli have now changed its identity into 'IITians' village'.
Among the successful students, Gulshan Kumar, Bihar topper of JEE Mains, has secured 20th position in the All-India ranking in other backward class (OBC) category in JEE Advance.
A leader of weavers at Patwa Toli, Prakash Ram Patwa, said, "The mission IIT started in 1996 when Jitendra Kumar had cracked the prestigious IIT examination. Inspired by his success, other boys also took it as a challenge and as a result, every year boys started cracking the IIT admission test.
In the beginning, senior students, who had already cracked the exam, had formed a platform "Nav Prayaas" to guide their juniors. Now, another platform "Vriksha Be The Change" has been formed, which provides online and offline coaching classes.
