Ludhiana: In order to create awareness among the micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) on central government’s zero defect zero effect (ZED) certification scheme, the district administration organised a workshop at Bachat Bhawan on Tuesday.
As many as 100 industrialists from various business associations attended the workshop.
Presiding over the workshop, deputy commissioner Surabhi Malik said the district was already leading in the state with the maximum number of ZED certifications and registrations. Speaking about the benefits of ZED certification, she said it would also assist the MSMEs to gradually build their competence.
The DC also said, “More industrialists should avail the scheme's benefits by registering for the same.”

Common Facilitation Centre chairman Vinod Thapar said, “It is an initiative of the central government, being implemented through its MSME ministry, in coordination with the state government’s industry departments.”
