Griffin Keyes (Kevin James) is a zookeeper in search of love. Five years earlier, Griffin had his heart broken by Stephanie (Leslie Bibb), who denied his proposal because of his zookeeping occupation. Griffin’s brother offers him a job at a car dealership, a proposal he considers since it could win back Stephanie. This doesn’t sit well with the zoo animals, who believe Griffin is the best zookeeper and want him to stay.

The animals decide to help Griffin find love, so he remains their zookeeper. This is the part where I mention that the animals can talk to Griffin, much to his surprise. The animals teach Griffin their mating habits and rituals to use on humans, which are met with mixed results. However, the animals aren’t willing to give up on their lovable loser, so they take matters into their own hands.

Directed by Rawson Marshall Thurber

Before he won the hearts of soccer fans as the quirky, positive Coach Ted Lasso, Jason Sudeikis starred in a string of raunchy comedies in the early 2010s. One of those films was 2013’s We’re the Millers. Sudeikis stars as David Clark, a mediocre marijuana dealer who owes money to his supplier, Brad Gurdlinger (Ed Helms). To cancel his debt, David agrees to smuggle marijuana from Mexico into the U.S.

David hires stripper Rose (Jennifer Anniston), runaway Casey (Emma Roberts), and nerd Kenny (Will Poulter) to pose as his family, believing it will remove any suspicion that he’s smuggling drugs across the border. We’re the Millers is an effective comedy that makes us wonder if Sudeikis will return to these types of stories after Ted Lasso.

At 93 years old, Clint Eastwood is still directing and starring in movies. Five years ago, Eastwood directed the crime drama, The Mule. Eastwood stars as Earl Stone, a 90-year-old broke horticulturist with a fractured relationship with his family. Desperate for money, Earl is offered a chance to run drugs for the cartel as a “mule.” Because of his age and lack of a criminal record, Earl can run huge shipments of drugs without suspicion, earning him thousands of dollars.

Earl can buy a new truck and reclaim his home. Things are going well until his success draws the attention of Special Agent Colin Bates (Bradley Cooper). With the DEA breathing down his neck and pressure from the cartel to deliver, Earl must grapple with his past and make up for his previous mistakes before it’s too late.

In the mid-2000s, Lindsay Lohan was one of Hollywood’s brightest young stars. In 2004, Lohan starred in Mean Girls, the teen comedy about female high school cliques and their effects on a high school. Lohan plays Cady Heron, a 16-year-old girl who transfers to North Shore High School after moving back to the United States from Africa. Struggling to fit in, Cady infiltrates the Plastics, the wealthy and popular group led by the ruthless Regina George (Rachel McAdams).

At first, Cady joins the Plastics as a ploy to damage their reputations. However, Cady slowly loses her identity and becomes everything she hates. Thanks to a witty script by Tina Fey and iconic performances from Lohan and McAdams, Mean Girls remains a piece of pop culture history.

There was a moment in the 2010s when Angry Birds felt like the most popular mobile game in the world. Everyone was launching the flightless birds on their mobile slingshots to pass the time. The game’s popularity led to a feature film in 2016, The Angry Birds Movie. Jason Sudeikis voices Red, the angriest of birds on Bird Island, ordered to take anger management classes. It’s here Red meets Chuck (Josh Gad) and Bomb (Danny McBride), two birds that are outcasts like Red.

One day, a green-colored pig named Leonard (Bill Hader) comes to the island on a peaceful expedition. The suspicious Red doesn’t believe Leonard and soon discovers the pig’s plan to steal the eggs from the birds on the island. Just like in the game, Red and his friends eventually use the slingshot to launch themselves into the pig’s city to stop the plan. At the end of the day, kids who play Angry Birds will enjoy their favorite flightless birds on the big screen.

Genre Animation, Comedy, Family
Stars Alec Baldwin, Steve Buscemi, Miles Bakshi
Directed by Tom McGrath

Boss Baby (Alec Baldwin) is not your typical infant. Boss Baby wears a suit and tie, carries a briefcase, and acts like a boss (pun intended). When he arrives home from the hospital, Boss Baby meets his 7-year-old brother Tim (Miles Bakshi; Tobey Maguire voices Adult Tim), beginning a sibling rivalry. However, Boss Baby takes pity on his older brother after he’s grounded and reveals his plans to Tim.

Boss Baby is on a mission to investigate the recent uptick in adults’ love for puppies while making babies the dominant force in their parents’ lives again. Boss Baby incorporates a fairly high concept for children, but at the end of the day, it’s a kids’ movie, so there are plenty of bathroom jokes and friendly bits that will make children laugh.

Stars Chris Hemsworth, Golshifteh Farahani, Adam Bessa

Despite being shot in the neck and left for dead at the end of Extraction, Tyler Rake (Chris Hemsworth) survives and makes a full recovery. Weeks later, Rake is recruited for another mission: to infiltrate a Georgian prison and rescue his ex-wife’s sister and her two children. Joined by siblings Nik (Golshifteh Farahani) and Yaz (Adam Bessa), Rake plans a daring rescue mission that draws the attention of a ruthless mobster Zurab (Tornike Gogrichiani).

Like most sequels, Extraction 2 raises the stakes and action, highlighted by a terrific 21-minute one-take-action scene. With Extraction 3 in development, the Hemsworth-led franchise may be the best Netflix has to offer.

This 2013 Hugh Jackman movie is popular on Netflix. Here’s why you should watch it
Prisoners

Just like the recent streaming hit Missing, which first came to theaters, Prisoners is enjoying a second life now that it's available to stream on Netflix. The movie, which tells the story of a father who begins to spiral after his six-year-old daughter and her friend go missing, is a chilling tale that feels firmly grounded in the many true stories that it likely drew from. Although Prisoners is undoubtedly bleak, many viewers are attracted to it partly because of its great cast and partly because it's so well-made.

The movie was not an enormous hit in theaters, but its popularity on Netflix has many people wondering why it might be worth a watch. Here are three reasons why the Jake Gyllenhaal/Hugh Jackman-led Prisoners might be worth a watch:
