Andhra Pradesh: Harassed by cops, 22-year-old jumps before moving train, dies
A 22-year-old youth died by suicide after jumping before a moving train at Mahanandi mandal in Andhra Pradesh’s Nandyal district on Tuesday.
TIRUPATI: A 22-year-old youth died by suicide after jumping before a moving train at Mahanandi mandal in Andhra Pradesh’s Nandyal district on Tuesday.
The deceased was identified as Chinna Babu (22), a resident of Thotaline Veedhi at Nandyal.
Moments before his suicide, the 22-year-old shot a selfie video and shared it with his friends and relatives.
In the selfie video, the youth alleged that he was being harassed by the Nandyal I town police to take the blame for a bike theft which he never committed in the first place.
Chinna Babu who works as a car driver alleged that the Nandyal I town police summoned him to the police station for questioning on Monday night.
"The SI and two police constables severely thrashed me and pressurized me to accept the blame for the bike theft. I was spotted by the police in one of the CCTV footage available with them taken from the spot and they tried to frame me though I was not involved in the theft. I'm committing suicide unable to bear the police harassment anymore", the youth alleged in the selfie video.

Nandyal railway police who reached the crime scene shifted the body of the deceased for postmortem and registered a case.
