Corpn shuts shed built on encroached land

Coimbatore: A team of officials sealed a shed constructed on an encroached land belonging to the city corporation at Kavundampalayam on Monday.
An official from the town planning department said the west zone office recently received a complaint about encroachment of corporation’s land at Auto Nagar.
A team led by A Babu, assistant town planning officer, verified that the complaint was true. “The four-cent land is part of open space reserve land belonging to the corporation. It is worth 80 lakh. The shed with steel sheet roof was let out for rent,” Babu said.
In the same area, a building constructed on corporation land was sealed last week.
