Asit Kumarr Modi, the producer of Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmaah, is facing legal issues as the Mumbai Police has lodged a case against him following a complaint from an actor on the show.

As reported by ANI, the Powai Police has registered the case under sections 354 and 509 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), which pertain to assault or criminal force against a woman with the intention to outrage her modesty. Despite the case being filed, no arrests have been made thus far.

The actor, known for her role in a popular sitcom, recently lodged a complaint against Asit Modi, Sohail Ramani, and Jatin Bajaj, accusing them of sexual harassment at the workplace. The police have taken her statement on record.

During an interview with the Economic Times, the actor claimed that Asit Modi had repeatedly made unwelcome sexual advances towards her in the past. She initially chose to overlook his remarks out of fear of losing job opportunities, but she has now reached a breaking point and will no longer tolerate such behaviour.

“One most important thing- I am not doing this for money; I am doing this only for truth and victory. They have to accept that they have done wrong to me and will have to apologise with folded hands that ‘We are sorry’. Because this is a matter of my dignity and self-respect," the actor told ANI.
