The 25th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution provides for a shockingly fast and easy transition of the presidency from Joe Biden to Kamala Harris (“Seven in 10 voters and nearly half of Democrats say Biden is too old to run again, poll shows,” Web, June 19). In fact, Harris can initiate the transfer of power at her discretion, depending only on the agreement of a simple majority of Cabinet members, the president pro tempore of the Senate and the speaker of the House.

Enough evidence and public recognition of Joe Biden’s mental and physical decline has already amassed for this constitutionally provided coup to take place during this term.

Democrats elected a mentally tottering Joe Biden after he hid in his basement during a faux campaign. Polling now shows that 73% of Democrats actually approve of Harris, absent any indication of accomplishment or ability. Democratic voters are clearly content to simply install a pawn to advance their ideology.

Republicans, by contrast, can choose from an impressive array of proven, competent, articulate candidates. Pick any one of the top half dozen current contenders and the nation stands to launch a vibrant renewal beginning Jan. 20, 2025.

The 2024 presidential election will come down to which party can drive more of its voters out to vote. Well, that and a fair vote counting.
