Mumbai logs six new Covid-19 cases; active tally at 34

Six new coronavirus cases were reported in Mumbai on Tuesday, taking the tally of infections to 11,63,919, an official from the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) said. As per the civic body's health bulletin, the toll remained unchanged at 19,773, while the count of recoveries reached 11,44,112 after eight patients recovered during the day. (PTI)

The chairman of the Privilege Committee of the Maharashtra Legislative Council has written to the secretary of the Council and requested him to take action on the breach of privilege complaint filed against Uddhav Thackeray faction leader Sanjay Raut for his alleged "chor mandal" statement against the Legislative Council.

The Bharatiya Janata Party-Shiv Sena combine, led by Maharashtra chief minister Eknath Shinde, is unlikely to cross the 100 mark in the assembly elections whenever they are conducted, NCP MLA Jitendra Awhad said on Tuesday.

Awhad was speaking to the media following a protest staged outside the NCP office in Thane condemning the defection by Shinde and his supporters last year which eventually led to the collapse of the Maharashtra Vikas Aghadi (MVA) government.

The MBVV police have recovered a doctor's medical accessories worth Rs 35 lakh, which had been misplaced in Bhayander town of Maharashtra's Thane district, an official said on Tuesday. Four people have been arrested for allegedly racing on two horse-drawn carriages on a busy road here, a police official said on Tuesday. The police action came on the complaint of a non-governmental organisation (NGO) about the illegal act on the Goregaon-Mulund Link Road, the official said.
