‘DMK has no moral right to accuse BJP of misusing govt agencies’
Tirupur: State BJP president K Annamalai said the DMK had no moral right to accuse the BJP of misusing government agencies.
Talking to reporters in Tirupur late Monday evening, Annamalai said state sports minister Udhayanidhi Stalin’s charge that the BJP had `turned the CBI, Income Tax department and Enforcement Directorate’ into the saffron party’s units was baseless.
“That’s a lie. The DMK has no moral right to talk about misuse of government agencies or corruption,” he said. He alleged that every minister in DMK was facing corruption charges. “After Senthil Balaji, now Ponmudy is accused of corruption. We have given a complaint against chief minister M K Stalin too,” he said.
Taking a dig at Udhayanidhi Stalin, who claimed that the credit was for DMK for getting the jallikattu ban revoked, Annamalai said if anyone should take credit for bringing back jallikattu it should be the PM. Annamalai said the state unit of BJP was planning to invite Prime minister Narendra Modi for the jallikattu event next year. “We want him to come as a special guest to Tamil Nadu and watch jallikattu. We are confident that he will accept our invitation and visit next year,” he said. On actor Vijay’s probable political entry, Annamalai said he welcomed anyone entering politics. “Let Vijay explain his ideology, his vision and then we can talk in detail,” he said.
