Video of Independent MLA slapping civic engineer in Mira-Bhayander goes viral

MUMBAI: Independent MLA from Mira-Bhayander Geeta Jain slapped an engineer of the Mira Bhayander Municipal Corporation (MBMC) in Maharashtra's Thane district during a demolition work at Kashimira on Tuesday.

No police complaint has been filed yet.
A video of Jain slapping the MBMC engineer, identified as Shubham Patil, has gone viral.

Patil, along with a colleague, had gone to Kashimira to carry out demolition of illegal huts.
The locals alleged that the demolition was being carried out without giving them any notice and they were being forcefully evacuated.
Jain reached the spot and spoke to the demolition team.
In the video, Jain is seen telling Patil and his colleague about a GR that does not allow demolition during monsoon.
The video shows her pulling Patil's shirt and slapping him for 'laughing'.
