Man shoots 3 relatives over ‘dumping of waste’ on disputed land
Police officials questioned the family members of victims on Monday afternoon
AGRA: A 28-year-old man allegedly shot dead three of his relatives, including a woman, and critically injured another following an argument over ‘dumping of waste’ on a disputed piece of land on Monday in Nagla Antram village under the jurisdiction of Karhal police station in Mainpuri district.
According to police, the reason behind the triple murder was enmity festering for years between two families over possession of land.
Additional SP Rajesh Kumar said, “Prima facie, there was a dispute between two families over a bit of land situated between their houses, and the incident on Monday afternoon was triggered by an altercation over dumping of waste on that part.”
Those who were murdered have been identified as Rameshwar Yadav (80), his son Kayam Singh Yadav (52), and Kayam’s daughter-in-law Mamta Yadav (30). Meanwhile, Sarojini Yadav (40) was seriously injured in the attack and has been referred to Saifai Medical College and Hospital in Etawah district for treatment.
Kumar added that the accused, Rahul Yadav, first shot Kayam Singh while he was sitting near his house and later went inside and fired indiscriminately, killing two others and critically injuring a fourth person.
SP Vinod Kumar said that the accused used a country-made firearm and shot at four members of the family, killing three on the spot.
“Rahul was assisted by some of his family members. An FIR will be registered on the basis of the complaint received. The accused involved in the case are absconding and a search has been launched to arrest them. The bodies were sent for autopsy,” the SP said.

Police were deployed in the area to maintain law and order as tension prevailed in the village.
