Jaipur: Jaipur boy Parth Agrawal from Jayshree Periwal High School secured AIR 113 in JEE Advanced, making him the city topper, according to information received till filing of this copy. He scored 283 marks out of 360.
Parth said that he attempted approximately 200 practice tests starting from February as part of his preparations. He now wants to pursue Computer Science engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi or Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur.
“I sat for approximately 200 practice tests from February and diligently solved previous years’ question papers. After my JEE Mains, I wrote down all the mistakes I had made and went through them before every exam to not make them again,” said Agrawal.
He said that he did not have any subject preferences and gave equal time to all the subjects.
“When I got 236th rank in JEE Mains, I was demotivated momentarily, but I redirected my focus towards preparing for other exams and Olympiads. Along with this, I put extra efforts to improve my performance. Mathematics was a major challenge for me, but I conquered this fear by dedicatedly practicing the subject. Chemistry was my favourite, and I even cleared the Indian National Chemistry Olympiad (INCHO),” he said.
He made specific targets to keep himself engaged all the time, which helped him revise the course easily.
“Badminton and swimming are my hobbies and acted as stress buster for me, but I had to discontinue both due to a knee injury and preparations for the JEE. In this I had unwavering support from my parents which helped me stay motivated and prepare better for the entrance examination,” said Agrawal.
