HYDERABAD: Two days after a 13-year-old boy was abducted in Anandbagh, Malkajgiri, for 2 crore ransom, Rachakonda police on Saturday solved the kidnap case by rescuing the boy and arresting five accused, including a juvenile.
Prime accused S Shiva, a resident of Anandbagh, is a neighbour of the boy. He conspired with his cousin S Ravi to abduct the boy after suffering 4 lakh loss in stock trading. They decided to kidnap the boy whose father is in construction business. The cousins took the help of P Mahipal and K Dileep, who hail from Mahabubabad, with a promise to pay 20 lakh to them. The juvenile, who also belongs to Anandbagh, was also lured by the accused duo of money payment, police said.
“Shiva and Ravi planned to earn easy money by kidnapping the boy from their locality,” DCP (Malkajgiri) D Janaki said. On Thursday evening, the juvenile in conflict with law and Ravi first approached the boy offering to buy him a ball and bundled him in a car. The other accused dropped the juvenile at Tarnaka and took the boy to Mahabubabad and kept moving around. They called up the boy’s father and demanded the ransom, police said. The boy was returning home from his school when he was abducted.
“The accused made app-based phone calls to the boy’s father to avoid getting caught by us,” police said.
