Four youngsters killed in separate road accidents
Kanpur: Four youngsters were killed in separate road accidents in the district late Friday night. Two coaching students were killed when a speeding truck hit their bike on which they were riding at Patara area in Ghatampur on Saturday morning. Both died on the spot.
Police have sent the bodies for postmortem. The truck driver who was fleeing after the accident was caught by passers-by and handed over to the police.The police identified the deceased as Abhishek of Patara (18) and Ankush (22) of Raipur village of Ghatampur. “Driver has been arrested and booked for rash driving, police have impounded the truck involved in the accident,” said ACP Ghatampur Dinesh Kumar Shukla.
Elsewhere, two youngsters were killed after their bike rammed into a stationary tanker in Nawabganj police area of the city on late Friday night. The deceased were identified as Golu (20) and his cousin Akash (21) of Makdi Kheda. The accident occurred at a spot in between Makdi Kheda and Bharatpur village when their bike rammed into a tanker that was parked by the road side.
The two youths were returning from a family function when the accident took place. The bodies have been sent for postmortem examination, said incharge Nawabganj police station.
