'CM Mann touring country as Kejriwal's pilot': Amit Shah slams AAP leaders during Punjab event, Delhi CM retorts

Home Minister Amit Shah criticized Arvind Kejriwal and Bhagwant Mann, questioning if Mann's only job was to be a pilot for the AAP chief. Meanwhile Kejriwal took a swipe at Shah over the decision to open a Narcotics Control Bureau office in Amritsar.

Home Minister Amit Shah lashed out at Arvind Kejriwal and Bhagwant Mann on Sunday, wondering if the latter's only work was to be a “pilot" for the AAP chief. The senior BJP leader addressed a rally in the border district of Gurdaspur as part of the BJP's outreach campaign to mark the completion of nine years of the Narendra Modi government. Meanwhile Kejriwal took a swipe at Shah over the government's decision to open a Narcotics Control Bureau office in Amritsar.

“Bhagwant Mann has time for Arvind Kejriwal but not for the people of Punjab. He has only one work and that is to take Arvind Kejriwal across the country. Sometimes I am unable to understand whether he is a CM or a pilot. People of Punjab are feeling insecure. Law and order have degraded in the state. The people will teach a lesson for this," he asserted.

“In my entire life, I have not seen a government like the one led by AAP, which makes hollow promises," he asserted. Shah also said that the Punjab government was making no efforts to address the increasing drug trade or farmers' woes.

While the jibe went ignored by the Delhi Chief Minister, he lashed out at the BJP with a barb of his own. Kejriwal alleged that BJP workers in the state were not fighting against drugs, but using the NCB to promote their party.

“Are you opening the NCB office or the BJP's in Amritsar? Then how can NCB work in villages through BJP workers? This means that you have nothing to do with the intoxication of Punjab. The BJP has to be promoted using NCB. By the way, intoxication had spread only during your and Akali Dal's government, Shah Sahib?" he tweeted in Hindi.
