Ludhiana: City based entrepreneur, Reetika Madaan is the first woman to represent Ludhiana at the
World Economic Forum (WEF). She is attending the four-day annual curators meeting (ACM), being held at the WEF Global Shapers Annual Summit 2023 from June 16 to 19 at Geneva, Swtizerland.
32-year-old Reetika has been selected to attend the ACM to share how Ludhiana is making an impact in social initiatives, with special emphasis on her project — Ludhiana Pedal Project.
Talking to TOI, she said, “Ludhiana Pedal Project was started to encourage people to use bicycles to help beat
pollution and reduce carbon emissions. We also proposed a mandatory cycle lane in Ludhiana...
“The talks are in progress, and we’ll talk about this at the global scale (at the WEF meeting) as it was a huge success at the local level.”
She would be interacting with global leaders at three locations including the WEF headquarters, and at the
United Nations and the
World Trade Organisation offices.
Reetika was the pioneer in bringing the ‘Ludhiana Hub’ to Punjab, which is the first and only hub of the WEF to drive social change and create global impact.
Reetika added, “This year, I got selected to represent Ludhiana to lead and drive the social impact projects we did in Ludhiana last year and this year. I am on the ninth cloud that I am representing Ludhiana here.”
She has won various awards for insightful talks at IIT Delhi, AIMA, CII and NIPM. She was also the first one to bring the TED-Ed Talks to Ludhiana. She is the founder of Sheroes Punjab community and presently works as a business mentor for
Google projects based on women entrepreneurs.
