‘Dedicate patriotic fervour to build modern Goa, India’

Margao: Chief minister Pramod Sawant along with Union minister of state for skill development and electronics Rajeev Chandrashekhar and other dignitaries on Sunday paid tributes to the martyrs to mark the 77th Goa Revolution Day at Lohia Maidan, Margao.
Freedom fighter Ram Manohar Lohia’s grand-son, Ramesh Chandra Lohia, was felicitated on the occasion.
Stating that June 18 has a special meaning for the people of Goa, Chandrashekhar said: “On this day the suppressed patriotic feelings burst into a mass revolution, which led to Goa’s Liberation from the British colonial regime. Let us dedicate and rededicate ourselves to ‘Sabka Sath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas and Sabka Prayas’ to build modern developed Goa and Bharat.”
Sawant in his address, said that Atmanirbhar Bharat and Swayampurna Goa 2.0, which lays emphasis on skilling, reskilling and upskilling, were the initiatives taken by the government as the state is set to host the National Games this year.
“Our government has made innovations in terms of technology, development, research, startups, coding, robotics and in various other sectors, which is a huge achievement,” said the chief minister.
PWD minister Nilesh Cabral, transport minister Mauvin Godinho, Margao MLA Digambar Kamat, Navelim MLA Ulhas Tuyenkar, MP Vinay Tendulkar and freedom fighters were present on the occasion.
