The prime minister said this time he is holding his 'Mann ki Baat' radio broadcast on June 18 instead of last Sunday of the month as he will be travelling to the United States next week. The works done by Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, especially regarding water management and the navy, increase the pride of Indian history even today."

"Japan's technique, Miyawaki is a very good way to make an area green if the soil is not fertile. Teacher Raafi Ramnath from Kerala used this technique to create a mini forest called Vidyavanam with over 115 varieties," PM Modi said.
During the radio programme, PM said, “We can never forget June 25 when emergency was imposed in the country in 1970s ... I came across a new book on emergency which has many case studies and pictures of the time ... this will help people to understand the importance of democracy."
“It was a dark period in the history of India. Millions of people opposed the emergency with all their might. The supporters of democracy were tortured so much during that time that even today, the mind shudders," PM said.
