NOIDA: A three-storey house bought by a gangster in his brother's name was attached on Friday.
Yogesh Dabra, a member of the Randeep Bhati gang, is named in over two dozen cases of loot, extortion, abduction and murder, police said. The house, estimated to be worth Rs 1.5 crore to Rs 2 crore, is located in Sector Beta 2.
They said Dabra had accumulated wealth illegally and purchased the house in the name of his brother Harendra. Dabra is currently lodged in the Mandoli prison in Delhi.
“(Yogesh) Dabra is an active member of the Randeep Bhati gang. The gang carried out several cases of robbery, murder and extortion. Dabra himself is an accused in more than two dozen cases of loot, abduction, murder and extortion,”ADCP (Greater Noida)
Ashok Kumar, said.
Action was taken against him by the Jarcha police station after which a report was produced to the Police Commissioner Laxmi Singh, who ordered attachment of the gangster's ill-gotten property, the officer said.
The action has been taken under provisions of Section 14 (1) of the
Uttar Pradesh Gangsters and Anti-Social Activities (Prevention) Act. PTI
