About 31,000 companies had been incorporated at the end of May last fiscal, a record at the time, on top of nearly 4,000 LLPs, people aware of the details told ET.
They sought to downplay claims that incorporation and corporate filings remained more or less paralysed after the roll-out of the MCA21 (Version 3 or V3) portal for companies on January 23. However, some of them did concede that there were teething troubles, which were being addressed urgently.

Senior officials of the Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA), led by secretary Manoj Govil, along with executives of LTIMindtree, the operator of the MCA21 (V3) portal, held the first stakeholders' meeting in Delhi on Thursday to resolve issues faced by the users on the spot. About 200 stakeholders gathered at the designated spot carrying laptops, and 120-odd issues were resolved, said the people cited earlier.
They said the officials will hold similar meetings in six other cities - Chennai, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Guwahati, Ahmedabad and Mumbai - between June 20-27 and strive to resolve various issues by the end of this month.
The meetings are being organised after finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman directed the MCA secretary to sort out the issues at the earliest so that stakeholders don't face any inconvenience.
The government had decided to introduce the filings of various forms through the MCA21 (V3) portal in phases. The filing of 20 forms meant for LLPs was rolled out in March 2022.
