New Samsung phones, tablets, and smartwatches are set to be unveiled at the company’s next Unpacked event, and like any other year, leaks have given us a look at those new devices ahead of time. And as we get closer to the event, the frequency of leaks seems to have been dialed up to 11.
After new photos of the Galaxy Z Fold 5, Galaxy Z Flip 5, Galaxy Watch 6 and Galaxy Watch 6 Classic made their way online earlier this week, we’re now getting to see a previously unseen image of the Galaxy Tab S9, Samsung’s next flagship tablet lineup.
Galaxy Tab S9 wallpaper more or less confirms the tablet will be water resistant
This image is clearly one of the promo images Samsung will use when the Galaxy Tab S9 series goes official. It shows how the Tab S9, Tab S9+, and Tab S9 Ultra compare in size, with the Ultra model unsurprisingly being the biggest. Also interesting is the wallpaper, which seems to have been designed to showcase how awesome Samsung’s AMOLED displays can be and also indicates that the Tab S9 series will indeed be water resistant, like we had revealed in an exclusive report.
Speaking of AMOLED displays, rumor has it that all three Galaxy Tab S9 models will use an AMOLED panel instead of just the Plus and Ultra models. The base Galaxy Tab S7 and Galaxy Tab S8 models had an LCD display, so this is a welcome change that, frankly, should not have been required because Samsung shouldn’t be using LCD panels on flagship Galaxy devices in the first place.
The three Galaxy Tab S9 models will share many other features, including the Samsung-exclusive Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 ‘For Galaxy’ chip, S Pen support, and One UI 5.1.1. However, the list of upgrades over the Galaxy Tab S8 series probably won’t be too long, with specs such as 45W super fast charging expected to remain the same as before.
