The palkhi procession of Sant Dnyaneshwar Maharaj reached the temple town of Jejuri on Friday while the procession accompanying the palanquin of Sant Tukaram reached Varwand the same day. Both the palkhis will reach Pandharpur on Ashadhi Ekadashi.
The Sant Dnyaneshwar Maharaj palkhi reached Jejuri after a halt at Saswad in Pune district. The palkhi procession of Sant Tukaram Maharaj reached Varwand after a brief halt at Yevat in Daund taluka of Pune district.
On Sunday, the Sant Dnyaneshwar palkhi will reach Lonand in Satara district where it will halt for two-and-a-half days. From Lonand, the procession will leave for Taradgaon where it will halt for over two days. The palkhi procession will be putting up in Satara district for five days.
The Sant Tukaram Maharaj palkhi left for Gavlachi Ondavdi on Saturday. From Pune district, the palkhi will go towards Solapur district.
The “Wari” to Pandharpur started from Dehu and Alandi. While the Sant Dnyaneshwar Maharaj palkhi procession started from Alandi on Sunday, the palanquin of Sant Tukaram left from Dehu. The Pandharpur Wari lasts for 21 days.
Meanwhile, to keep the Warkaris connected to their loved ones, a telecom services provider ‘Vi’ has deployed two multi-utility mobile vans. These vans are accompanying the pilgrims in their 250km journey from Pune to Pandharpur over a span of 21 days, and will be stationed in Pandharpur for three days around Ashadhi Ekadashi, stated a release.
To ensure that the Warkaris have the comfort and convenience of constant connectivity, the mobile vans are equipped with over 100 mobile phone charging points, free calling facility and recharge services. The Warkaris will be able to make use of these facilities throughout the day. The two vans are accompanying the Warkaris, on the palkhi routes of Sant Tukaram Maharaj and Dnyaneshwar Maharaj, said the release.
