Cyclone Biparjoy: Pregnant woman delivers baby after being rescued in Gujarat’s Mandvi

Amid heavy rains and gusty winds caused by cyclone ‘Biparjoy’ in coastal areas of Gujarat, a pregnant woman in complicated condition was rescued and brought to a hospital in Mandvi. She later safely delivered a baby on June 16.“We received a call about a pregnant woman who had a very complicated case. It took her two and a half to three hours to reach the hospital. The delivery could have been done only by operation, but we were able to do a normal delivery instead. So far, there have been 44-45 such cases, and both the mother and child are safe now…” said Dr Dhruv, Gynecologist at Civil Hospital in Mandvi.
