Actors starring in Shane Warne telemovie rushed to hospital as sex scene goes wrong

Filming for a telemovie about cricket legend Shane Warne was disrupted as actors were hospitalised after a sex scene went wrong.

The series named 'Warnie' is set to be released as a biopic about the late star, who was one of the sport's greatest bowlers.

Alex Williams is playing the role of Warne, with Marny Kennedy starring as his then-wife Simone Callahan.

However, whilst filming a sex scene, both were injured and taken to hospital following an accident.

Speaking to the Australian Daily Telegraph, about the incident, Kennedy recalled: "It was during a little make-out scene from when they [Shane and Simone] were younger.

"We were going down a corridor and we were meant to push into the bedroom and land on the bed, but we both completely missed the bed."

Kennedy ended up breaking her wrist in the fall, while Williams cracked the back of his head open.

She added: "We ended up sitting in the emergency room together, he with a bandage around his head and me with my wrist strapped."

The hospital they were taken to is said to be primarily for elderly patients, with 33-year-old Alex and 29-year-old Marny likely the youngest there.

"It was just Alex and I with our bleached hair, fully still in wardrobe, sitting there surrounded by elderly residents," she said, with both able to find humour in what happened.

So much so that they are said to have made mugs with a selfie of them in the hospital, gifting them to the show's cast and crew.

The production is set to portray Warne's incredible cricketing career, in which he made 145 test appearances.

His relationship with Liz Hurley, played by Shanti Kali, will also be covered, as well as his public fall from grace.

Warne sadly passed away due to heart attack in March 2022 whilst on holiday in Thailand, with his death shocking the world of sport.

More than 50,000 people attended his state funeral at Melbourne Cricket Ground.

It is also said that 300 million people from India alone watched the TV broadcast.
