On Thursday, Delhi Police submitted the chargesheet against Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, a BJP MP and outgoing chief of the Wrestling Federation of India, within the government's promised deadline of June 15. Wrestlers, who have been protesting since April, also agreed to this deadline. Prior to filing the chargesheet, tight security measures were implemented outside Brij Bhushan's residence in Delhi. The chargesheet has been filed under IPC sections 354, 354D, and 345A, accusing the BJP MP of sexual harassment and stalking. Over 180 individuals were interrogated regarding the allegations. In a separate development, the Delhi Police filed a cancellation report in the POCSO case against Brij Bhushan. This case was initiated based on the accusations made by the father of a minor, who later retracted the sexual assault charges in a fresh statement. The police, citing lack of evidence and the minor's father's statement, have requested the cancellation. The hearing for the cancellation of the POCSO case is scheduled for July 4.
