Massive fire broke out on the third floor of a coaching center in Delhi’s Mukherjee Nagar on Thursday. With the use of wires, several students were seen climbing through windows to save themselves. However, 3 students got minor injuries while escaping the fire.

11 firefighters were rushed to douse out the fire as soon as they got the information.

The fire has been put out, and a search operation will now be conducted, according to reports. Delhi DCP Suman Nalwa said that a few injured students were taken to a local hospital. However, there were serious injuries or threats to life reported.

The fire spread in just one metre, but the smoke caused many to get alarmed. The fire, however, did not result in any injuries. Those who jumped out of the window had only minor wounds, the officer continued.

The building will also undergo a fire safety audit because many projects in Delhi lack adherence to fire safety regulations. Fire safety precautions include those that are used to control the spread of fire and those that are used to stop it from starting in its initial stages.

The flame spread after the electric board installed on the ground floor of the four-storey building caught fire.

Director of Delhi Fire Service Atul Garg said, a call regarding the incident was received at 12:27 pm, after which a total of 11 fire tenders were immediately sent for duty.

People, mostly students, can be seen being rescued by the firemen via the windows in a video shared by the fire department.

Meanwhile, North Delhi’s Mukherjee Nagar is one of the hotspots for coaching facilities and is regarded as the hub of the education sector.

A heart-wrenching case of child exploitation was reported in Jaipur, Rajasthan. According to a report, Jaipur Police and Children’s welfare organization in a child abuse case have rescued 22 innocent children. A jewelry mafia in Jaipur purchased 22 children at Rs 500 each from Bihar and forced them to work for 18 hours a day in his jewelry-making shop.

As per the police, these 22 children were forcibly brought to Bhatta Basti, Jaipur where the child maltreatment was taking place. The innocent 22 children were forced to work for 18 hours for Khichdi (cereal) for one time a day. All the rescued children dwell from Sitamarhi and Muzaffarpur in Bihar. This case raises a serious concern about the protection of children from such crimes. It has ruined their childhood at the age of attending school and playing sports.   

Following the rescue, the children told the police that the accused Shahnawaz Alias Guddu brought them by paying just Rs 500 each to their parents from Bihar to the Bhatta Basti area in Jaipur. They further elaborated, Shahnawaz with his wife used to lock them in a room for 18 hours to work on ornaments. The accused himself had 4 children, the rescued children told the police. When police raided, Shahnawaz and his wife fled, leaving their children there.

Police said, the children were sent for the medical examination, and one child aged 11-year-old was found malnourished. Due to physical abuse, another child’s rib was found swollen. Both the children were admitted to the hospital.

The police are currently looking for both the accused, Shahnawaz, and his wife. They escaped at the time of the raid, leaving their 4 children alone at home. The case came to light when neighbors heard an unusual voice of children screaming for help on June 12. Earlier, they ignored the crying voices since it was not unusual as on Monday, June 12. They speculated and informed the incident with a children’s welfare organisation named “Bachpan Bachao Andolan” founded by Nobel Peace Prize winner Kailash Satyarthi.

The children’s welfare organization director Manish Sharma informed the same to the police and they collaborated to rescue all 22 children from the accused home. Both the accused have not been arrested yet. The few rescued children were hospitalized for treatment and the rest were safe with the police.

In a robotic aided surgery carried out in Noida, a 60-year-old man got a new lease of life after a cancerous tumor was removed from his kidney on Wednesday. The private hospital asserted that it was the first robotic-aided surgery conducted in Noida.

According to reports, the patient was experiencing abdominal pain. Medical tests revealed that the tumor was located in the renal hilum, which is the medial part of the kidney. All blood vessels and the urinary tract are located in the medial part of the kidney. 

In a statement, the Fortis hospital in Noida stated that a team of doctors led by Dr Dushyant Nadar, who is the hospital’s director of urology and renal transplant, conducted the entire procedure in four hours. 

Dr Dushyant Nadar said that the location of the cancerous mass in the patient’s kidney was such that it made regular laparoscopic surgery extremely difficult. He added that advanced robotic-assisted technology was used since a doctor’s hand could not reach the area. He further noted that a robot-assisted surgery facilitates a “ten-fold magnification” of the surgery site, making it easier for the doctors to view the area. 

Dr Nadar further narrated that the procedure was smooth and that the patient is doing completely fine. He added that if the cancerous mass was not removed on time then it would have damaged the entire kidney and it might have led to the removal of the entire organ.    

Earlier in January, doctors at Uttar Pradesh’s Sanjay Gandhi Postgraduate Institute of Medical Sciences (SGPGIMS) had successfully operated a 21-year-old-woman  through a robotic surgery. The woman was suffering from thyroid cancer. 

Dr. Gyan Chand, who is the robotic thyroid surgeon at SGPGIMS said that the patient developed a lump in her neck, following which she was diagnosed at the city’s Kamala Nehru Cancer Hospital. He explained that as surgery without making an incision in the throat was not possible due to complications, she was referred to the Lucknow hospital. 

Notably, robotic surgery in cancer care is already in progress in India. In July 2022, the Rajiv Gandhi Cancer Institute and Research Centre (RGCI), which is a project of Indraprastha Cancer Society and Research Centre, introduced a “made in India surgical robotic system’ in an attempt to make robotic surgery more accessible to patients.
