When does the 2023/24 Premier League season start? Fixtures confirmed for new top-flight campaign

The new Premier League season will be upon us in no time and the fixtures for the 2023/24 campaign have been confirmed.

Manchester City claimed their third straight title last term after coming out on top in their battle with Arsenal.

Meanwhile, at the other end of the table Southampton, Leicester and Leeds were relegated with Burnley, Sheffield United and Luton Town taking their place in the big time. 

After the players take a well-earned break over the next couple of months, a huge pre-season will begin and the 2023/24 campaign will then get underway. 

When does the 2023/24 Premier League season start? 

The 2023/24 Premier League season will begin on Friday, August 11.

City will begin their bid for a record fourth consecutive title away to Vincent Kompany's Burnley on the opening day.

This start is one week later than the 2022/23 season, with the schedule returning to normal following the World Cup's disruption last campaign.

However, a winter break for players will return between January 12 and 20 after a busy Christmas period. 

During that period, the Premier League has committed to help out clubs and players with the usual fixture congestion by having no two rounds of fixtures taking place within 48 hours of each other. 

The final round of fixtures will take place on Sunday, May 19, 2024.

All games will kick-off at the same time, just as this season's final day games took place.
