GHAZIABAD: A stalker rammed a car into a 30-year-old woman near Raj Nagar Extension when she was returning from a gym. Police said the woman sustained injuries on her face and needed stitches while the man has been booked and a hunt is on to nab him.
On June 9 morning, the woman claimed, she was returning home from a gym when the man, driving a white Creta car, drove up to her side and asked her to get in.
The woman confronted the man when he allegedly continued to make inappropriate gestures and harass her.
“I asked him to leave and warned that I will file a complaint following which he drove away. A while later, as I was crossing the road near Pahalwan Dhaba, I saw the same car approaching me at a high speed and stopped. Suddenly, the driver veered towards me and rammed the car into me,” the complainant said.
The woman claimed that she became unconscious and was taken to a hospital by a passerby.
She also said that she regained full consciousness only after two days and submitted a complaint at the Nandgram police station soon after. “I have bruises all over my body and got 25 stitches on my face. I still can’t walk properly. I live alone in this city and feel scared after the incident,” she said.
Based on her complaint, a case under IPC sections 354A (sexual harassment), 279 (rash driving), 338 (causing grievous hurt by act endangering life or personal safety of others) and 308 (attempt to commit culpable homicide) has been registered against an unidentified person on Tuesday.
“We have formed teams to nab the miscreants. CCTV cameras of the route and other nearby establishments are being checked. The accused will be nabbed soon,” a senior officer said.
