The key member of cm Stalin's team experienced chest trouble and was taken to the hospital by the government after the Enforcement Directorate detained tamil Nadu minister V Senthil balaji early on Wednesday. The bjp retaliated after the DMK accused it of political intimidation by pointing out that stalin had previously called for Balaji's arrest on the same charge of corruption.

Since tuesday morning, the ED has been questioning balaji at his home on a cash-for-jobs scandal that occurred in his department when he was the transport minister in the previous AIADMK government.

On Wednesday, stalin paid a visit to hospitalised arrested minister V Senthil balaji and then issued a statement in which he criticised the ED's decision, calling it "unnecessary despite the minister having assured his cooperation." stalin claimed that the BJP's sole and tried-and-true method is to use the agencies to threaten its political adversaries. What happened in places that are not governed by the bjp also occurred in tamil Nadu, he claimed. stalin stated that balaji will take the matter to court and that the DMK would maintain its political stance while vigorously defending him.

The ED believes that transactions of Rs 1.3 crore and Rs 29.5 lakh made into Balaji's and his wife's bank accounts are connected to the suspected bribery. When questioned, according to ED sources, balaji allegedly shouted at the detectives and refused to respond.
