PWD plans to connect 1,782 villages in state

Jaipur: Officials of the public works department (PWD) are focusing on the desert and tribal areas of the state as the department has approved to connect 1,782 such villages.
Officials said, the works to connect these villages are on in full swing and majority of these villages would get connectivity before the forthcoming assembly polls.
“We are laying down fresh roads to connect these villages either with the main through fare of the villages or directly with the state or national highways. We would try to complete 60% of the job by the end of this year,” said Sanjiv Mathur, chief engineer of state PWD. Besides PWD had approved works of another 6016 projects. TNN
