DM issues notice to PWD engineer

Varanasi: District magistrate (DM) S Rajalingam on Tuesday ordered to issue notice to PWD engineer for slow pace of work in construction of a warehouse in Sadar tehsil.
He also warned the contractor to cancel the status certificate for using less number of labourers. The project, which costs Rs. 5.90 crores, is to be completed by September.
The DM conducted a site inspection of three projects funded by the Tourism Department in Sarnath area. The proposals of these projects sent to the government by the Varanasi Development Authority have been approved.
He also inspected the beautification and development work of the multi-functional area of the park situated near Dhamek Stupa in Sarnath, which costs Rs. 1.80 crores.
He inspected the site of surface parking, which will be constructed on Sarnath-Munari Road for Rs. 94 lakhs. Rajalingam inquired about the restoration work of Sarangnath Temple and Kund in Sarnath area and instructed to fix water leakage on the temple road.
